Uxi pods — also known as Dragon's Egg pods — are the hard, egg-shaped fruits of the Endopleura uchi tree, native to the Brazilian Amazon. Also called uxi-amarelo, this fruit is deeply rooted in the culture and sustenance of Amazonian peoples. In the hobby, uxi pods are prized for their striking appearance and their ability to add color, texture, and depth to any blackwater aquascape, biotope, or terrarium. This is a bioactive terrarium favorite reptile nut & seed pod. A fun natural accent to bearded dragon or gecko enclosures.

Aquarium Preparation

Boil: Boil for at least 1–2 hours to help them sink and leach initial tannins. These pods are difficult to waterlog.

Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer, changing water daily, until fully waterlogged and desired tannin level is reached.

Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, add to your tank.
