Sponge mushroom caps are real dried mushrooms, daedalea quercina— a truly unique addition to bioactive habitats and terrariums. Despite their name, they are not spongy; they are sturdy cork-like dried mushroom caps that can be placed on the enclosure floor or adhered to the sides of a habitat to create a naturalistic mushroom shelf. Isopods and springtails enjoy consuming them, making them natural microfauna hotspots in an enclosure.
