Aquarium: When properly prepared, Ram's Horn pods release a moderate amount of tannins, promote biofilm, create microfauna hotspots, and contribute to a naturalistic blackwater aquascape. Important note: Ram's Horn pods will straighten out when submerged — they do not hold their curled shape in aquariums. They also produce a lot of biofilm.

Aquarium Preparation

Boil: Boil for at least 15 minutes to help them sink and leach initial tannins.

Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer, changing water daily, until fully waterlogged and desired tannin level is reached.

Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, add to your tank.
