They are great botanicals for naturalistic terrariums, and they do hold up well in humid vivariums. These seed pods make harvesting springtails a breeze. Simply set a seed pod on top of the springtail substrate, and the springtails will gather on the seed pod so you can transfer the springtails to where you need them. If using in an aquarium, it is recommended to boil the seed pods for 15-20 to release some tannins and then soak the pods in water for several hours to overnight to help the pods become waterlogged and sink. Start by adding one or two pods to see how your aquarium reacts. Adding too many pods can make the water dark. You can always add more seed pods as needed.
