Important note on Ram's Horn: The Ram's Horn pod will lose its curled shape if placed in an aquarium — it straightens out when submerged. It does produce a generous amount of biofilm and is best used in terrariums for its decorative form.

Aquarium: Large pods provide structural hides and spawning sites for fish and shrimp, produce tannins and biofilm, create microfauna hotspots, and build a naturalistic blackwater or biotope aquascape. Ideal for medium to large aquariums.

Bioactive Terrarium: Provides hiding spots and a food source for isopods and springtails, adds dramatic texture to the enclosure floor, and holds up well in humid vivariums. Dart frogs and small reptiles love to hide in the talami pods and urchin pods.

Aquarium Preparation
Boil pods for 15–20 minutes to release initial tannins, then soak overnight to help them become waterlogged and sink. Start with one or two pods and add more as desired. See our full botanical preparation guide for step-by-step instructions.
