Dysoxylum pods — often called Lali pods or Lafia pods in the botanical and craft trade — are the uniquely shaped dried fruit capsules of trees in the Dysoxylum genus (family Meliaceae), primarily found across tropical and subtropical Asia. When dried, these thick, woody pods curl inward, creating an intriguing curved form with a deeply dimpled exterior and a smooth interior. A great nano-sized addition to blackwater and biotope aquascapes on the botanical method. These are a great addition to isopod bins, springtail cultures, and reptile habitats. Microfauna such as isopods and springtails enjoy colonizing these unique botanicals. Each bag contains 15 Dysoxylum Lafia pods.

Aquarium Preparation

Boil: Boil for at least 15 minutes to help them sink and leach initial tannins.

Soak: Soak in clean water overnight or longer, changing water daily, until fully waterlogged and desired tannin level is reached.

Ready to Use: Once they sink and you've achieved your desired water coloration, add to your tank.
