Description

Indian almond leaves, also called Catappa or Ketapang leaves, are dried leaves from the Terminalia catappa tree, which are popular in aquariums for creating natural "blackwater" environments, releasing beneficial tannins that lower pH and provide antibacterial/antifungal effects, reducing fish stress, offering food/shelter for shrimp/fry, and mimicking natural habitats for species like Bettas, Discus, and Tetras.

The dried leaves are free of chemicals, and they are approximately 5" to 7" in length.

We like to use these leaves to make "tadpole tea" for our dart frog tadpoles by simply placing a small piece of the leaf in the tadpole's water.  Within a day or two, the tannins leach into the water providing antimicrobial properties.  We also use Indian Almond leaves as leaf litter in our vivariums and terrariums due to the antimicrobial properties, and the isopods and springtails enjoy the leaves as well.

PLEASE NOTE:  Seed pods are a natural product. and they will vary in size and shape.  No two are alike.

NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION.
