This Tannin Pack is a nice assortment of tannin-rich botanicals for your paludarium, bioactive terrarium, or botanical method aquarium. The pack includes medium-sized Indian Almond Catappa leaves, Casuarina cones, and a lotus pod.
This botanical seed pod pack is ideal to use as blackwater botanicals for aquariums, biotope, betta fish, and shrimp. The pods will produce tannins, biofilm, and act as hides.
The photos illustrate the general size and shape of the botanicals you will receive. This pack contains 1 Lotus pod, 2 ounces (approximately 70-80) Casuarina cones, and 10 medium-sized Catappa Indian Almond leaves.
If using in an aquarium, it is recommended to boil the botanicals for 15-20 to release some tannins and then soak the pods in water for several hours to overnight to help the pods become waterlogged and sink. Start by adding one or two pods to see how your aquarium reacts. Adding too many pods can make the water dark. You can always add more seed pods as needed.
